While Thatcherism revived the British economy her broadly classical liberal views never had much support in the party or the the educated public and the Marxist cultural revolution was happening apace especially in teaching, education, especially the humanities and in the arts. I was tracking this process in the quarterly Policy journal produced by the Centre for Independent Studies in Sydney.

Tony Blair harvested the economic benefits of the Thatcher reforms and spent them on the big government Woke/ Welfare State which has come to full fruition recently with the disintegration of the community with unlimited migration of incompatible tribes. crushing the morale of the original English people and burirying their legitimate concerns with a fair approximation of a fascist police state, two tier policing, and the rest.

And that is before we get to the bilateral commitment to the anti-scientific and suicidal net zero program.

This is a most interesting article that is clear and easy to read, I not being an economist. It chimes very much with my thoughts, being a long retired military and civil engineer. Certainly major change is required in the Palace of Westminster, both in terms of the quality of the politicians and the quality of its civil servants who have their own agendas. The new party that is currently doing much of the running in the imminent local elections will certainly bring a breath of fresh air notwithstanding many of its candidates will have a learning curve once in office. But I do hope that the majority who are not products of political studies can use their knowledge and experience, and their leadership values, to challenge hard the status quo.

Ultimately it is the people who elect their representatives, and they are now fed up with electing those who, once in office, do not do what the people want them to do.

Trump, despite being generally disliked as a man, is admired for getting things done.
